Invasive Species

Clover, Invasive Species
It is interesting how certain plants can dominate and become invasive species. They begin small and often beautiful, yet they take out other plants that are healthy and provide balance to the whole. But it is not just plants that can be invasive species. Invasive species affect and live in the ocean world, the insect nation and the population of mammals, and all animals.

Just like plants, animals, mammals and insects, humans when we get together in groups and large numbers, can overtake and either bring about good things with balance, or negative results that cause trouble to the whole.

The wrong motives and the desire for power is akin to an invasive species. These groups of people look magnificent at the onset. They can be so admirable in the beginning. They may smell good so to speak! And yet as the ideas of the group grow, they remove the balance and beauty of the entire system.

Invasive species can destroy and bring that which is not beneficial to the entire population. To the point of possession. So let us remember this when we are admiring an idea, a politician, a group of people or others who may say that they have the best interests of all at heart. We need to discern motives. And always with integrity as our guide, which needs to be revered.

Humans are faulty, and it’s the ones who can admit it, that live in the Truth. Look for humility, humble hearts, and contrite spirits that can repent when wrong. It’s the people who admit they are at fault when they are, and the folks who are generous and helpful to the lowly. These are good indications.

The World is our Church and as a part of the Body of Christ, we need to remember Hebrews 12:1 which says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us strip off every unnecessary weight, and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”
